Duff & Phelps’ Property Tax Services assists clients in identifying tax saving opportunities by reviewing their tangible property portfolio and associated property tax assessments and liabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Commercial Real Estate Property Tax Services practice is seeking to hire an Analyst to work on tax consulting and valuation projects. As part of our team, your role will include:

  • Conducting in-depth real property research including land titles review, on-site inspection, land use control identification, property improvements documentation, lease analysis, and review of historical financial records
  • Assembling industry surveys, benchmarks, economic and demographic trends
  • Independently gathering and verifying direct market evidence pertinent to the engagement through database research, source document review, property inspections, and direct communication with knowledgeable parties, including vendors, purchasers, brokers and property managers
  • Writing thorough reports communicating the results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner
  • Contributing to the development and communication of proposals and advice to current and prospective clients
  • General office responsibilities including filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning, processing and distributing mail, messenger packages and express mail packages
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of property tax related experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple engagements and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
  • Computer proficiency and ability to maximize applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and other industry specific applications
  • Ability to work effectively with senior professionals in an engagement team
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience preparing time and expense reports
  • Experience making travel arrangements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
