  • Job Summary
    The Houston Chinese Services Coordinator & Library Staff will work 20 hours/week with Chinese Studies to recruit students primarily for DTS’s Chinese Studies program and assist the Chinese Enrollment Manager with student applications, academic advising, and degree guidance.  In addition, he/she will work at the Houston Campus 20 hours/week as support staff for daily operations and library administration.


    • Recruitment:
      • Establish good rapport with Houston area Chinese churches
      • Attend Local church events/exhibitions
      • Houston campus preview day/New Student Orientation
      • Point person for Houston prospective students
    • Enrollment:
      • Onsite Houston Chinese class rep:
        • Coordinate with Chinese students to obtain their ID badges, library access, facilities, etc
        • Coordinate with the Chinese Course Planning Manager to develop a course rotation that promotes timely graduation rate.
        • Coordinate with academica advisors to assist Chinese students with degree oversight and academic advising.
    • Houston Campus Operations:
      • Support the Hybrid schedule (MON-THUR, with occasional Friday and Saturday coverage).
      • Library staff (20 hrs/week).
Job Qualifications
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in isolation and within the dynamic team environment of the Houston Campus.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. A degree from DTS is preferred though not required.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
