Summary:  Responsible for telecommunication systems and associated equipment for various regions. Candidate should exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility and willingness to accept constantly changing priorities while performing the below duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Cisco Call Manager, Unity, IM&P, UCCX, Cube, WebEx
  • SIP, PRI, T1, and Ethernet cabling
  • Cisco routers and switches, voice gateways, phones, and video endpoints
  • Resolve trouble tickets coming from multiple locations in a timely manner
  • Manage new Cisco voice installations or upgrades from legacy systems
  • Troubleshoot phone and fax issues, POTS lines, etc…
  • Provide training to new and existing customers

Requirements:  Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below:

  •  Strong background with IT to have an extensive working knowledge of telecommunication systems and associated equipment.
  • Experience installing and administering Cisco VoIP system
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant years working in an enterprise telecom environment
  • Strong dedication to quality customer service
  • Strong communications skills & superior telephone etiquette
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, peers and management and work in a team environment.   
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions as described above.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivlanent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Experience with Mitel, ShoreTel, Avaya systems a big plus
  • CISCO Certification (CCNA or higher, Voice or Collaboration preferred)
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
1. Normal office working conditions.
2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
3. Occasional travel required, including overnight travel.
4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
