Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Production planning and inventory control functions to support the manufacturing department. Perform buying assignments for production and non-production material, per established MRP requirements or approved requisitions

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:​​​​​​​

  • Plan and release work orders for production; maintain WIP status
  • Review capacity requirements and schedule work in production areas
  • Review work order variance reports for difference in planned costs vs actuals
  • Perform inventory cycle counts, review inventory for obsolete/slow moving parts as well as materials with expiration dates
  • Review ECO’s/DCO’s for impact on production
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Department on component delivery
  • Provide the Sales Department with expected delivery dates, clear blocks on sales orders
  • Support Production Supervisors on changes in manufacturing requirements
  • Work with Product Development and Quality departments for the creation and maintenance of prototype/project work orders for manufacturing
  • Database maintenance on assembled parts
  • Review bill of material and costing structure for accuracy
  • Review requisitions and MRP planned orders, enter and maintain purchase orders
  • Respond to MRP scheduling messages, expedite delivery of components

Qualifications

SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:

  • Minimum 3 years experience planning with computerized MRP system
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • SAP Knowledge of MRP and inventory management
  • Good organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good analytical and decision making skills
  • Buying experience a plus

TYPICAL EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: One to three years production/inventory control in a                                                                                 manufacturing environment.
