This position is for a Sr Specialist role on the Server Delivery team.  This position will work with the team on implementation of server delivery services using standard tools to automate provisioning and configuration management.  This position will also work to ensure all operational patches and baseline levels are maintained across all various platforms.  This includes server infrastructure at the ETDC as well as in our BCC and Field locations.  This individual will participate in Project implementation as well as business Continuity solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, and Maintain Datacenter services solutions (Physical, virtual, cloud-based server build)
  • Operate and maintain Server information in Solar winds and Vrops as well as Asset Mgmt and IPAM
  • Enhance automation and configuration mgmt. following coding standards and tools for server builds and integration activities
  • Delivery of IT service Mgmt to ensure the timely delivery and resolution of incident and problems.
  • On-Call 24/7 rotation for emergencies or operational assistance.


Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Experience with VMware Administration / Configuration 6.x, 7.x,
  • Experience with VRealize Operations
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle or other cloud services.
  • Experience with Microsoft / Linux Server OS implementation / configuration
  • Experience with Replication services: Veeam Backup and recovery, SRM / Storage replication services / Zerto
  • Experience with HPE server hardware / blade Solutions / Storage arrays
  • Experience with Solar Winds for server monitoring and availability
  • Experience with scripting and automation routines for standardized deployments and configurations
  • Experience with Infrastructure design, implementation, documentation, and disaster recovery
  • Must be able to install, rack and cable server equipment
  • Must follow change guidelines and after hour maintenance windows

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL V3 / ITSM – Must work within the Incident / Change / Problem mgmt. framework.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
