The Information Technology Department currently has an opening for a System Administrator. The primary responsibility of this position will be to perform network and system support functions on segments of the computer environment, including planned and emergency maintenance, performance and security analysis, and monitoring, tuning and implementation of new products and procedures. Analyzes emerging technology and makes recommendations for constant improvements to network and infrastructure services and capabilities.  Ensures that the implementation and rolling out of IT solutions are designed and planned with minimum disruption to the business processes.

Summary of Duties:
  • Designs and coordinates segments of the IT architecture at the direction of the IT Operations Manager.
  • Produces and maintains IT design, architectural, and specification documentation, as identified.
  • In coordination with the rest of the systems staff, provides daily control of the IT production segments of the infrastructure, including system, network, and security administration.
  • Monitors information storage systems, schedules and tests, including backup and recovery tasks, as identified.
  • Provides research, development and planning of segments of the IT infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the validation, building, and testing of IT solutions; analyzing IT infrastructure technical issues; and supporting the design, planning, building and testing of new IT solutions, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience preferred.

Relatable Work Experience:

  • Three years of information technology experience to include communications.
  • Prefer experience in the following technologies/products: Cisco, Cradlepoint, Checkpoint, Fabric Paths, Networking, Solarwinds, Storage Area Networks, Security, Server Hardware, AS/400, Microsoft Windows, and Linux.

Training (License and/or Certifications)

  • Valid Texas Driver License
