We are looking for a talented individual to join our growing team as Financial Controller. Reporting to the Geoscience Western Hemisphere Senior Financial Controller, the Financial Controller is part of the Western Hemisphere Finance Team which includes the US, Canada, and Latin America. In this role, you will provide support to Business Managers, and you will provide the team with insightful analysis needed to take actions that will maintain/grow business profitability. Primary responsibilities: 

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Senior Financial Controller and Business Managers to produce financial reporting in line with group policy and the financial calendar. You will produce cost center management accounts and monitor performance (profitability and cash) and explain key variances and key performance indicators to management. You will also produce budget and financial forecasts and contribute to the broader three-year business plan. Additionally, you will provide support to various projects, such as investment analysis, financing, and auditing. Likewise, you will work with the Finance group to assist with the roll-out of the group’s applications.

Skills:

• Proficient with financial data analysis tools (MS Excel; data retrieve tools)
• Proficient in use of financial databases (Oracle Hyperion or other EssBase cubes)
• Knowledge of IFRS 16 preferred
• Analytical mindset with the desire to understand what lies beyond the numbers
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Dynamic, open-minded team player with a desire for continuous improvement
• Proven ability to take an inclusive approach working with a global organization
• Strong problem-solving skills, from identifying problems to articulating pragmatic solutions
• Proficient time management and organization skills
• Proactive and flexible approach to working to ensure effective communication with clients and colleagues spanning different time zones

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, accounting or similar major required
• Master’s degree in finance, accounting or similar major preferred
• 3-4 years of previous experience in a controlling role or a similar role within a Global company
• Financial background needed in accounting and controlling with knowledge of accounting principles and reporting
• Fluent in English (writing and oral) required
