Job Title: IS Network Engineer HQ

Job Family: Information Services (IS) – Infrastructure & Operations (I&O)

Location: Position can be performed from any U.S. company office location, with opportunity for hybrid and remote work.

Position Description: Implement, maintain, and contribute to design of computer networks. Work alongside Information Services (IS) network team to support network infrastructure and ensure reliable connectivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Configure and deploy network devices (e.g., routers, switches, and firewalls) and follow network design guidelines and implement network protocols to ensure proper integration of network components.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting, including analyzing network logs, using network monitoring tools, and collaborating with senior engineers to resolve network problems.
  • Conduct routine network maintenance activities, including applying firmware updates, managing network equipment inventories, and performing backups, in addition conduct network upgrades, hardware replacements or software updates.
  • Ensure compliance for implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Provide support to Information Services (IS) BU teams, address network-related inquiries, and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
  • Monitor and assess network performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with emerging network technologies, industry trends, and best practices through self-study and training programs.
  • Collaborate with IS team to share knowledge and contribute to positive and productive team environment.
  • Contribute to network planning and design activities, conduct research, and propose solutions.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program in Computer Science, Information Services, Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 5 years of Technology/IT (Information Technology) Network related experience, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Experience apply project and program management principles
  • Solid business acumen to solving business and technical problems
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, and adept at processing and breaking down data into actionable information
  • Holistic understanding of networking protocols TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, wireless, and routing
  • Configuration and management experience with FortiGate and Fortiswitch or comparable platforms
  • Experience with Networking Load Balancers
  • Understand Cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Professional presentation delivery skills and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences, and tailor communications appropriately
  • Experience with contract and vendor management
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Limited travel
