Job Summary
The Research Scientist is responsible for leading the effort of lentivirus vector production and other research and development from various projects, communicating with team members regarding the progress of the projects, persistent in pursuit of meaningful scientific challenges, and managing study records.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working in a smaller company environment you’ll be asked to do a number of things to expand your skill set; however, your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performing gene cloning, maxiprep of plasmid DNA
• Mammalian cell culture, lentivirus vector production and purification
· Assay development to characterize the lentivirus vectors
· Affinity and Ion-exchange chromatography
• Familiar with AAV Vectors and their production methodologies
• Performing Research Experiments to improve the lentivirus vector production system
• Having strong skill on Research Record Keeping
• Understanding Company’s cutting-edge technology
Who We Are Looking For
· PhD Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or related field with 2+ year experience in viral vectors, especially lentivirus, willing to perform bench work, strong hand-on experience, and communicate with team members
· Advanced result driven and full of energy to face challenging situations
· Ability to effectively multi-tasking in order to meet deadlines and commitments
· Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals within the department, company and external vendors, and customers alike
· Demonstrated ability to handle pressure in a calm and respectful manner while managing competing and simultaneous demands
· Detail oriented and highly organized with a strong business/technical acumen
· Excellent project- and time-management abilities and strong follow-through skills required
· Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) required
· Significant experience using computers and software programs required (e.g., MS Office Suite)
· Other skills and abilities as required
