Plastic bag manufacturing located in Sugarland texas has immediate opening for 2 shipping associates, Full time Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm Benefits includes medical, dental and 401K. Annual salary  $30000 – $32000

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Assistant to join our plastic bag manufacturing company. As a vital member of our logistics team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of our products to customers and distribution centers. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in shipping operations.

Responsibilities:

Order Processing:

Receive, review, and process shipping orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Coordinate with the sales and production teams to prioritize and fulfill orders in a timely manner.

Packaging and Labeling: Prepare plastic bags for shipment by securely packaging them, adhering to safety guidelines, and affixing proper shipping labels and documentation.

Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels of finished products and packaging materials. Conduct periodic inventory checks to reconcile physical stock with records.

Shipping Coordination: Collaborate with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to schedule pick-ups, track shipments, and ensure on-time deliveries.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking numbers, delivery dates, and any issues encountered during transportation.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any shipping-related issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies in collaboration with relevant departments and stakeholders.

Cost Efficiency: Optimize shipping costs by selecting appropriate carriers, negotiating rates, and consolidating shipments when possible.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certifications are a plus.

Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field within a manufacturing environment (plastic bag manufacturing experience preferred but not required).

Familiarity with shipping software and systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL) and inventory management tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various internal departments and external shipping partners.

Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.

Physical stamina to handle packaging and lifting of shipments.

Knowledge of shipping regulations and international trade procedures is advantageous.

Shipping Clerk Duties & Responsibilities

  • Scheduling shipments and planning logistics.
  • Preparing paperwork for shipments.
  • Reviewing invoices.
  • Communicating with warehouse to make sure all orders are in place
  • Checking orders for accuracy.
  • Tracking and updating the status of shipments.
